COURSE OVERVIEW
WSQ Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (WSQ PDECCE) is designed to equip preschool teachers with the relevant skills and knowledge for effective teaching and curriculum planning.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Provide an overview of the preschool and national education systems in Singapore and their desired outcomes
- Analyse their roles in the facilitation and scaffolding of children’s learning in the early years
- Understand educational considerations that help various exceptional needs children to be more successful in their learning.
- Recognise the importance of including Parents and the Community in the care and education of young children
- Recognise the importance of safety, health, hygiene and nutrition aspects in the care and education of young children
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Academic Requirements:
- 5 GCE ‘O’ level credits
Language Requirements:
Formal education in English
- A grade C6 in GCE ‘O’ level English Language or any acceptable alternatives (For English programme)
Formal education is NOT in English
- A grade B4 in GCE ‘O’ level EL1 or any acceptable alternatives
